Chester Music Festival

Untitled document

The youth band, under the baton of Carol Stokes, went to the Chester Music Festival on Saturday 13 May 2006. The festival was held at the King's School which is to the south of the city. The band opened their programme with the march Pennine Way by Maurice Johnson and the Sinfonie Concertante suite by Gerard Boedijn. The band entered in the open brass band class and recieved an adjudication with a distinction grading [see below]. The Hilda Cathral trophy and Chester Festival award of £50 went to the best in the brass and wind band classes. The certificate below shows the deserved and excellent news - the band brought home the shield!
