While playing a concert at the League of Friends Fair for Gobowen Orthopaedic Hospital, three Youth & Training Band members had the privilage of meeting Owen and Rose Paterson MP.

As part of the Ellesmere College long-standing support to Hope House and the Ellesmere and District Age Concern Day Centre, the School recently hosted a Midwinter Concert in aid of both local charities.

On a sunny Saturday (10 July 2010) Porthywaen Silver Band took part in the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival held in Ironbridge, Shropshire.
