Would you like to learn a brass instrument or join Porthywaen Silver Band?

Then why not pop down on a Friday night between 7pm and 7:30pm and have a chat with either Paul Sharp (Starter Group), Carol Jones (Youth & Training Band) or Aden Walker (Beginners' Band).

We have a Starter Group which is suitable for anybody (of any age) to start to learn how to hold and play a new instrument. A Beginners' Band where new players learn the fundamentals of playing music and playing within a group and a Youth & Training Band for those players who have excelled past grade 3 standard.

At Porthywaen there is a group or band suitable for any player, regardless of playing ability and age.

Instruments are provided free of charge (with a yearly fee of £10 for insurance) as well as free basic tuition on a Friday night.
