Porthywaen Silver Band has a history stretching back to 1934 when a group of local musicians who had originally come together to provide accompaniment to a local choir formed the band.

The band has four groups:

• The Silver Band
• The Youth and Training Band
• The Beginners Band
• The Starter Group
  

The Bands are always looking for New Members. If you are looking to get back to Banding or would like to start playing a Brass instrument then please contact us.

There are no subscriptions and we offer free instrument loan and tuition to all.

We rehearse in our purpose built band hall on the border of England and Wales near Oswestry.
